Outstanding achievements of the department:

  1. Prof. B.S. Ghuman
    • Nominated a Member of the Fifth Punjab Pay Commission.
    • Nominated on the Board of Directors of the Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (A Government of India Enterprises) by the President of India.
    • Nominated on the Editorial Board of Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration. (Co-published by the Governance Programme at Charles Darwin University in Australia and the Department of Politics and Administration, Hong Kong).
    • Appointed Co-ordinator of the Canadian Study Centre set up in the Panjab University w.e.f. June 2005.
    • Visited IISD, Winnipeg, Canada from 15-6-2005 to 3-7-2005 and 20-6-2004 to 29-6-2004 as Principal Investigator in connection with the Indo Canadian Research Project titled, “Livestock and Environmental Sustainability: The Experience of the Indian Punjab” funded by the Canadian International Development Agency.
    • Visited University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle, United Kingdom from 6-6-2003 to 28-6-2003 under British Council sponsored project on “Rural Poverty Alleviation Programmes and Sustainable Development: The Indian Case (A Study of Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana)”.
  2. Dr. (Ms.) Ramanjit K Johal
    • Visited IISD, Winnipeg, Canada from 20-6-2004 to 29-6-2004 in connection with the Indo Canadian Research Project titled, “Livestock and Environmental Sustainability: The Experience of the Indian Punjab” funded by the Canadian International Development Agency.
  3. Dr. Charanjeev Singh
    • Visited University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle, U.K. from 6-6-2003 to 28-6-2003 in relation to the Higher Education Link Research Project titled “Rural Poverty Alleviation Programmes and Sustainable Development: The Indian Case (A Study of Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana)” sponsored by the British Council from 7-6-2003 to 29-6-2003.
